As already mentioned, it’s been at Terje Refsnes’ and that resulted in a clean and powerful sound (if you disregard the partly a bit too low drums) that this music equally needs and deserves, which means that “An Elixir For Existence” has enough fire to blow away the biggest part of the Gothic Metal scene. In the end the album just lacks a certain something to put it onto the same level as the previous one, but that still is enough to be one of the highlights of the year! (Online March 9, 2004)
