Ok, the Dark Tower. Stephen King wrote the first line, “The man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed” in 1970 when he was 23 and ended the series on april 7th, 2004 (my birthday ). It is his magnum opus, his personal quest, and all of his works are more or less just bricks in the walls of the Tower. I always hated stories which span through several books, so I never read it until it came out in serbian and I decided to have all his books in serbian… then I read it and got addicted.
And generally, it changed my perception of his writing totally. DT can’t be put in one genre and that is it’s magic. So… here you go:

Now… what order should I take with the books connected to DT? Hm… Let’s take the… “more” connected first. But on a side-note, all of them can be read and understood perfectly without DT.
Ok.
First one: The Stand. was actually released BEFORE DT1. Anyways, the version I give you here is the second one, uncut, 400 pages longer than the “original”. It was released 1990 or so, 10 years after the first one.

The Stand is an apocalyptic horror epic novel by Stephen King originally published in 1978. It re-works the scenario in King’s earlier short story, “Night Surf” (included in the short story collection Night Shift).
The novel was re-released as The Stand: The Complete & Uncut Edition in 1990. King restored some text originally cut for brevity, added and revised sections, and changed the setting of the novel from 1975 to 1990. This edition featured art by Berni Wrightson.

Now… IT. Everyone knows the movie… (does anyone want me to upload that movie, too?)

It is a horror novel by Stephen King, published in 1986. It is one of his longest at over a thousand pages. Considered one of King’s most visceral, gory works, It deals with themes which would eventually become King staples: the power of memory, childhood trauma and the ugliness lurking behind a happy, small-town fa
